KUNLUN FIGHT 36 TOOK PLACE EARLIER TODAY IN SHANGHAI, CHINA AND BUAKAW BANCHAMEK SAW HIS FIRST ACTION OF 2016.
Buakaw faced Hainan Liu in a pretty exciting fight. It was a long shot for Liu to pull off the upset and defeat Buakaw, but the 22 year old was more than willing to try. He didn’t back down and went toe to toe with the Thai superstar. Buakaw was, however, the faster and sharper of the two fighters. At one point it seemed like the end for Liu was coming as Buakaw backed him into a corner and unleashed a flurry of punches, then dropped Liu with a punch to the body. Liu gutted it out and continued to go after Buakaw despite having been hurt by him and he was able to make it to the judges score card. It was clear that Buakaw had been the superior fighter and the judges awarded him a decision victory.
Roman Kryklia was able to out point Jahfarr Wilnis and avenge a his previous loss to him. This rematch from Kunlun Fight 21 was just as good as the first fight. The guys went at it and in the end Kryklia was once again victorious.
Some big knockouts took place as well. Dutch veteran Albert Kraus scored a knockout of Mingzhi Liu in the third round of their bout, and Steven Banks scored a second round knockout of Litao Zou. The highlight of Banks fight was when he bobbed and weaved out of the way of Zou’s punches, showing some great movement for a super heavyweight.
